Great food, great scenery, great company, great inspiration.  What's not to love?

Join me for a magical week of creativity in the Abruzzo, Europe's hidden gem.  6 years ago we bought La Vecchia Scuola - the old village school of Tornareccio, initially it was simply a holiday home.   But as our love of Italy grew and grew, we have spent more time there and enjoy welcoming guests to experience this wonderful place.

Groups are small usually 6/8 - you all stay at a local hotel where you have the joys of Italian village life on your doorstep.  After a day of creativity you can enjoy a passeggiata and a refreshing aperitivo.  My next Italian adventure is scheduled for Sept 2022, you can find all the information you need HERE

Vi vediamo prestò!

"Dionne is a powerhouse of creativity. She hosted an 3 generation family special for grandmother, mother and 2 home ed teenage granddaughters and we all loved it. It was part Italian cultural immersion part artistic exploration, all inspirational. We had the most amazing vegan food, explored negative space, stencils, screen printing, repeat patterns, natural dying, free machining, colour blocking, free painting on screens , perspective, hand embroidery and more. All in the beauty of the Abruzzo landscape. Our hands, hearts and minds were buzzing. My teens approach to creative briefs has now changed forever which is a joy to see. Thank you Dionne, already thinking of returning."

I had the most incredible week on Dionne’s drawing workshop in Italy. Immersed in the rich cultural heritage of the area we were taught and guided in various aspects of drawing and mark making, alongside optional beach yoga at sunset and honey tasting in the mountains. I would highly recommend Dionne’s Italian workshops to anyone wanting to learn and improve their skill set. On another note the local wine is rather good too. Thank you Dionne for an incredible week x

I’m going to try to articulate just how magical an experience Dionne’s Italian Summer school was. I feel unable to do justice. My experience of sewing is limited. I have fiddled and self taught sewing creatively for the last two years with an occasional day course, (also with Dionne which was amazing). Italy was incredible. The food; the location; the hotel; the hospitality; the smells; the warmth; the atmosphere; the mountains; the beach; the Trabocchi; the gelato; the scenery; the fantastic company, the beautiful alleyways and vistas beyond but above all else the amazing teaching. Dionne has opened my eyes to a fresh way of looking and sketching. She has shown me processes to expand my creative work and generated added spark and excitement to my work. Dionne does this in such a skilled and accessible way that you often don’t notice, such is her mastery of empowering you creatively. I was reduced to joyous tears twice on this course due to being overwhelmed with such incredible company and new discoveries. Utterly, utterly wonderful. I have started a new love affair with Italy and cannot wait to return. Thank you Dionne.x
