Creating Connections

It's been some time since I've opened my computer - I think that's a good think right? I don't feel like a slave to this metal machine anymore. I have spent recent months settling into my new studio space in Abruzzo: it's studio plan B which is proving to be a little gem :-) I have a separate jewellery room and a good spacious communal table for drawing and textile activities plus a store area...its slightly apart from the main house and it feels just right.

My hair has grown wild and curly, I'm letting the grey do its thing - it feels like it fits!
Small weekly workshops have started - local expats, visitors and even the occasional Italian have taken part - I had been craving those creative conversations and connections. Its been a nice mix of jewellery, textile and painting classes. Next month I have invited an Italian ceramicist to come and teach here too...baby steps into creating a little creative hub! The next adventure is on Saturday 31st August - it's not my usual type of event & I might be going a bit mad, but I'm exhibiting in Lanciano the local city/large town as part of a 'Benessere/Wellness' event: it's outside from 6pm til midnight [warm but full of mozzies]. It will be a fabulous opportunity to get my work to a new audience and to throw myself, again, into the deep end of Italian chiacchierata 'chatting'.
I'm hoping to make some wonderful new creative connections with local Italians and also start painting some new works whilst I wander through the evening. Wish me luck [In bocca al lupo] - I shall need it. I believe I will have some GnT to hand for dutch courage!
