Virtual Log Cabin Quilt Sew-a-Long

Many of you know that baack in the first lockdown Janice, Magie and myself developed the VIRTUAL QUILT PROJECT...it gathered loads of interest and we are very grateful for all the uploaded blocks.  We are all still staying home, keeping safe and finding ways to indulge our creative minds. 

There's no better time to re-invigorate this project and take it to the next level with an virtual get together and sew-a-long

This is a FREE sew-a-long afternoon when I shall talk you through the making of a hand stitched log-cabin quilt block, suitable for the VIRTUAL QUILT project.

Janice Gunner and Magie Relph/African Fabric Shop will also be on hand...I shall be working to Janice's instuctions and using Magie's fabrics!

You will need:

30cm square backing cloth [fine cotton/old pillow case]

4 or 5 different quilting fabrics including one small piece of yellow for the centre block

Needle and thread

Fabric scissors

Ruler 

[rotary cutter & mat if you have them/not essential]

It's going to be relaxed, fun and stress free - a time to meet and chat with other friendly stitchers...I'll occassionally pop you into little breakout rooms so you can chat in a small group and see some friendly faces.  Don't worry if you aren't too hot on zoom I'll offer a few basics at the start & if you are new to sewing, I'll be talking you through the whole process so you should feel more confident in no time at all.
